Buddy has trained Eric that when he flips over like this, Eric must drop
down and give him belly rubs immediately.  Eric learned his trick pretty well!
This was a month centered on Millie, a female hummingbird that Eric found
injured in our yard.  She couldn't fly or even sit upright for long.

The Loons are so curious, here Buddy & a loon check each other out.  Eric has Millie all rigged up in a cat carrier with a feeding tube and constant care.

Sweet Pea!  She is the sweetest pea.  She loves us and always wants to be petted.

Lily loves to try to force the other pets to hang out with her, even Millie (above)

A burst of sunshine from my dear parents.  Encouragement for the quilt show!  Lily, trying to be close to some other living creature.

Eric talked Dan into being on the GLID (Glen Lake Irrigation District) board.  Now it takes
up a TON of both of their time.  But without GLID water, we have no ranch!
Lily taking things a bit too far with her curiosity about Millie.  Eric had to start keeping Millie
with him after this.  She lived for about two weeks with us, but then she sadly passed away.

Beautiful sunset one evening.   Scenes from a fun class in fabric painting at our local quilt guild.  It was a great day.

Shakespeare in the Park - this year it was Eric's favorite play, Henry V.

During a fight scene, one dog in attendance got all upset about the people fighting and
started to bark, trying to make them stop.  The owner had to escort the dog away.  It was funny.

One of our own members won our raffle quilt this year.  I thought it was very beautiful.

A photo of the crowd I found on Facebook.  A lovely day at the E-S ranch.

Tracie texted me one morning that there was an elk in our yard, I was
facing it but hadn't looked out the window to notice it was there.

Beautiful sunrise.  Usually I'm not awake when this happens in the summer!

I had a huge pile of table toppers I needed to finish in a hurry.  So of course, Rocket falls asleep
on the toppers and Lily falls asleep in my sewing chair.

Fair time!  Here Buddy checks out the Emu, who wanted to peck Buddy really bad.

The food court.  Two days later this would be the scene of that power line falling to the ground
and sparking - shutting off power to the fair during many of the busiest hours of the food court.

Our great niece Lilly won first place for her pig Tucker.

The Bull Thing!  I believe it's the biggest Eureka event of the year.

Family photo - everyone is smiling except Eric, as per usual.

Tracie & Dan and long-time friends Clint & his wife behind us.

One of Lisa's grandsons came for a visit with his fancy hat on.

The next morning was "The Church Thing" - a community-wide outdoor church event at the arena.   It was well attended.

This is a "before" photo because we are about to do work to expand the parking lot at the
Timbers Lodge.  We're going to dig out the hillside up the road and dump all the dirt over the
edge here, making new parking spots in both places.

Buddy loves to roast himself in the full afternoon sun on the front porch.

The newest longhorn baby.  I call him Bikram because of the little dot on his forehead.
His mamma is very protective.
Oops - Bikram somehow got into the yard and can't figure out how to go back.
His mother was MAD!

Bikram, still trying to figure out an escape plan.  He walked the whole perimeter of the fence.

Sweet Pea.  Can't you just see in her eyes how much she loves you?
She looks like a Disney character.

This one I call Henry.  He was born red, but is turning black like his Mom now.   This is FT, he's the oldest of the babies born this year and by far the most ornery.  He likes to be petted some.

As much as he enjoys roasting in the front porch sun, he also enjoys lounging in the shady grass.

That face!  I'm helpless to resist it.

Lily, once again helping me with my table toppers.

Majestic dog, ready for tricks and treats.

My poor, sick, old cat Rocket.  He used to be a force, but now he doesn't
feel very well.  The poor old dear.
I must have made a noise that disturbed his nap.

One of my favorite things to do is float the irrigation ditch near our house.  It's a 20 minute walk
for a 20 minute float.
Selfie during one relaxing float trip.  Buddy runs alongside, he didn't like the floating part.

Great niece Lilly with her hog Tucker, photo grabbed from Facebook.   Mom sent me a couple pictures of a trip my family took together.  Here's one.

And this cute one!

Saw this on Facebook - I vandalized a house where we used to live and this
lady was nice enough to seem happy about it!

Elk

 Trail cam activity.

 Elk butt Young coyote

 Poser!

"Are you getting my good side?"

"Stop with all the pictures already!"

When they say "doe eyes", this is what they mean for sure.

Another Disney character in the making!
