| EMQS - Eureka Montana Quilt
Show 2025 |
|
| A great group of ladies and I work all year
long for this one day each year - EMQS. We have over 400 quilts
displayed all over the town for one day only. It is a labor of love,
but man, is there a LOT of labor involved! This year was sad because
it rained. That made it much more difficult, less enjoyable for me,
and harder work for our team.
This is my 4th year of being chairman of the quilt show. Before I
took over, there was one year where it rained. In my four years, it
has rained on 3 of the 4 show days. :-( |

This wonderful team of ladies accepts, measures, labels, and sorts over 400 quilts in one day. It's amazing. |
| These "year bars" pins were big a thing forever, but then they got
dropped about the time I took over. We got back to doing them this year - this is my collection. |

Here they are, chipping away at the giant stack of quilts. |
| The pile looks pretty daunting! | |

| Show day! Eric is the only one who will do this dangerous high ladder
work. He got his rock climbing friend Michael to help out this year. |
The roof they are standing on is wet and very slippery. It's hard to
express just how dangerous this was for those two. |

| Eric trying to reach everything while Michael tries to keep the ladder from sliding off the wet roof. | The other peaks are hung with the ladders on the ground, so a little
less dangerous - but still challenging! |

pictures before the |

| The team of hangers got way ahead of the team of plastic-coverers, because that plastic is hard work. | The magnolia quilt on the far left was mine, it sold that day. |
Enjoying some quilts that are not covered in plastic. |

| Blanche was able to get us extra helpers this year and they were SO needed with all the extra work we had putting up plastic. |
|
My Modern Blue Mountains quilt on the right sold that day as well. |

| Blurry shot of me with the quilt. | |
The quilt on the far left was mine, Breakfast at Tiffany's. There are some real beauties beside it! |

| The boys, almost finished with the fronts of the buildings. | The lady told us the wrong dimensions of that quilt, so it didn't fit the spot. |
When the building had eaves, we didn't have to use plastic. That

| The library had a nice overhang so these quilts could be seen. | |

One of our best displays at the show is our Quilts for Hero's (which I
think should be Heroes, but |
| Both of our golf cart drivers took their meal break at the same time, so I suddenly became the driver. Having no experience I'm happy I didn't wreck! |

People trying to see the quilts - I was so happy that a lot of people came out for the show! |
| This was the quilt I was most proud of, "Moonlight Flight". It was
a challenge to make but turned out so pretty. |

There were some non-rainy parts of the day, this was one of them. |

| Hearts and Arrows, mine, was hung too high for a selfie. | |
A glimpse up main street. |

| My favorite quilt in the show was by one of the ladies who help hang the
quilts. It's so pretty, difficult, and impressive! |

| The upper right quilt is one of mine, "Interlocked". There were a lot of pretty ones hanging here. | EMQS takes place the first Saturday in August, every year. Perhaps you would join me in praying that future years do not have rain! |
