January was a sad month with the passing of Eric's dad, Dan Casazza Sr.  We stuck close to home and didn't do much this month.  Thankfully the temperatures were unseasonably warm so we were able to give our Buddy a lot of walks.

You can tell when I'm walking him without Eric.  He has to wear both a tracker and a training
collar when it's just me.  It's a lot to pack around!

Buddy is a pro at working this treat puzzle.  He gets lots of practice!

One warm day I took Buddy to the Riverwalk path in town so he could pee on some new stuff.

Beautiful sunset one evening.  We call this yellow light, "The Golden Hour", but it's really about 15 minutes.

It's foggy and gray here in winter so often, but when it does clear up it seems super clear.
It feels like you can see each individual tree on the mountain.

When we went to Charleston, SC last fall I bought some Charleston fabric.
I made this adorable snap bag out of it this month.  It's Rainbow Row!

A sunset one clear evening.  We actually had clear skies somewhat often this month.

Beautiful condolence flowers from the Eash family.

Beautiful condolence flowers for the funeral from my parents.
Rose allowed me to take these home - they stayed beautiful for a long time.

Setting up for the funeral reception.  Jeb rests with Uncle Tim after doing a bunch of setup work.
Thanks to Rose, Uncle Tim got a new outfit, new haircut, and was all spiffed up for the funeral.

On the morning of the funeral the family gathered in the church basement.
Here cousins Myla Beth and Bryce happily hang out under a table.

A view of the crowded funeral reception at The Timbers Lodge.

Larry gave a very nice speech at the funeral, and Dan gave an equally nice one at the reception.

They played the beautiful song that Dan had said he wanted played at his funeral.  Our buddy
Mike gave Rose a short dance to it.  It was super sweet but I was too slow with my camera.
The week after the funeral, cousin Christopher was back in Whitefish so he came up for a nice
lunch visit. Five of the boys were able to come plus Rose and I.  Just like old times, after lunch
they put him to work!

Admiring the horses & mules while walking Buddy.  That smoke is Eric, Dan, and cousin
Christopher burning brush piles in the distance.
I finished out the month at a 4-day quilting retreat.  Twenty-three Eureka ladies went to this resort
hotel in beautiful Lakeside, MT to sew for as many hours a day as possible - for four days.  I love it!

The views from the second floor dining room.  They fed us two hearty meals a day and we sewed
for the rest of the time.

Here I show my challenge project.  Last year we were given a charm pack
(the small squares) and this is what I made from mine.  It's super handy.

Trail cam photos.  We haven't seen a single deer on them since September.

Here we have 3 coyotes in one photo.

This one turned out extra beautiful for a trail cam photo.

Blurry shot of one elk.  We saw a lot of elk in the area this year.   I think this one either heard or saw the camera.

The most handsome and majestic creatures ever captured on film in the wild.
